Brighton’s Mindful Food Brand aum alchemy Brings Adaptogen Peanut Butter to London
In a world that moves too fast, Londoners are seeking something slower. The rise of run clubs and wellness communities across the capital reflects a growing shift (RunThrough) towards routines that are more rooted, intentional, and connected.
Enter aum alchemy, the Brighton-born mindful food brand on a mission to support just that, infusing adaptogens into peanut butter as a delicious symbol of mindful living.
Launching this May at the renowned Raye Store, aum alchemy invites Londoners to pause, slow down, and indulge in one of their three functional peanut butter blends:
Mind (lion’s mane), Body (maca root) and Soul (turmeric), each crafted to support a different state of being. Whether as a gift or a personal moment of presence, each jar encourages conscious connection with your mind, body or soul.
What Are Adaptogens, and Why Now?
Adaptogens — ancient herbs and roots known for their potential to reduce stress, balance hormones, and support wellbeing — are gaining momentum in the UK. The global adaptogen market is expected to hit USD 18.38 billion by 2030, with the UK market forecast to grow 7.7% annually from 2025–2030 (Grand View Research).
Still a few years behind the US, where brands like Anima Mundi, Moon Juice and Mud Wtr lead the space, the UK is rapidly catching up — driven by rising awareness of emotional health and the search for slower, intentional routines.
With Londoners reporting lower mental health scores than any other UK region (Understanding Society), aum alchemy offers a grounded, everyday way to reconnect, simply.
“We see adaptogens as tools for reconnection, not quick fixes,” says co-founder Maria. “Each spoonful is an invitation to pause and disconnect from autopilot.”
What’s Inside Each Jar
Lion’s Mane Mushroom (Mind Butter) – A nod to cognitive clarity and living with intention
Maca Root (Body Butter) – Hormone-balancing and energising, for strength and grounding
Turmeric Root (Soul Butter) – A spiritual staple, rooted in Ayurvedic tradition to uplift, reconnect and restore
Born from Markets, Backed by Demand
Founded in April 2023 in Maria’s grandparents’ back kitchen, aum alchemy sold out every weekend at markets across London, from Brick Lane to Richmond. After a full rebrand and securing a new supplier, the brand is ready for its next chapter, with jars launching in selected Brighton and London stockists this May.
“We hope our adaptogen peanut butter acts as a gateway to a more mindful life,” says Aus. “A moment of pure indulgence, where we’re conscious of being present, not thinking about what’s next.”
